There's something about September in Chicago — the way the light turns gold a little earlier, the first cool morning that finally feels like a reason to wear a sweater, the markets still bursting with the last of summer's color even as everyone starts craving pumpkin everything. We love this season for exactly that: the slowing down, the local color, the chance to set up our table and actually talk to the neighbors and friends who make these markets feel like home.
